CDLP Lensed By: Daniella Midenge

When my friend – who works in men’s fashion – recommended Swedish underwear brand CDLP, visions of tight, black pants popped in to my mind, and as that is the exact opposite of anything my husband would wear, I dismissed his pitch. But we were both pleasantly surprised by the reality – ultra-soft boxers in non-wrinkling, mercerised cotton. CDLP is the brainchild of two stylish Swedes – Christian Larson, an award-winning film and music video director, and Andreas Palm, founder of brand agency Ciceron. Launched in 2016, their collection is designed in Stockholm and handcrafted in Porto, and features comfortable seams and a logo-free waistband.

Five styles include the Boxer Short now favoured by my husband; a Boxer Trunk; snug Y-Briefs for a slim-cut trouser; the Boxer Brief, which is somewhere in between a traditional boxer short and a Y; and the latest edition, the Long Johns, a low-waisted take on the Scandinavian staple that’s breathable and helps to regulate temperature. All are available not only online, but at hotspots including Soho Farmhouse and the Grand Hotel Tremezzo on Lake Como.
